This article analyzes the FCC’s 2018 Communications Marketplace Report and concludes that competition among broadband providers exists at slow speeds, and that, depending on the location, there is either a monopoly or no access for high speeds. Despite this, the author notes, the FCC has little complaint with allowing the industry to regulate itself.
